Jonstar Consulting Group is a boutique management and business development consulting firm operating out of South Florida and Jamaica. We provide specialized advisory and implementation services to support companies desirous of achieving revenue growth through international business expansion strategies. We work primarily with small- and medium-sized enterprises, organizations, and government agencies, especially those that are either Caribbean or whose business touches the Caribbean or Caribbean Diaspora markets.
We are a small team but possess extensive international executive and hands-on business experience, spanning more than 30 years. We are purposefully small to build direct working relationships with you, yet flexible enough to pull in additional resources whenever necessary to fit your needs.
We focus on the industries and markets where we have honed our business development expertise. These are financial services, government and public services, and consumer goods and services, covering the Caribbean and the Caribbean Diaspora, North America, Western Europe, and West Africa. Such a focus guarantees that we will give you quality service based on a practical understanding of those industries and markets.
OUR LEAD CONSULTANT
Peter George Smith is the founder and managing consultant of Jonstar Consulting. His vision for the organization lies in the dynamism of today's much-talked-about global economy and how to effectively participate in it. Using his almost 30 years of management and international business development experience, he guides companies, organizations, and agencies on unlocking and pursuing opportunities to transform their businesses for revenue growth.

Originally from Jamaica and now residing in the USA, Peter followed the prescribed path of getting a good education and a good job. After graduating from university in Jamaica with a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages, he obtained a Master of Arts in Sociolinguistics in France, followed by a Master and a Doctor of Business Administration in the USA, both in International Business.

Peter honed his vast management and international business development expertise from working with government organizations and entrepreneurial and growth companies in France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the USA, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. His focus has been principally on the FinTech industry (remittances and payments), international trade, and foreign direct investment promotion. He is experienced in local and cross-border marketing, market research, sales, project and product management, human resources management, and operations.
After years of following the prescribed path, Peter realized he had more to offer to the business world. Why not use his skill set, experience, and, most importantly, successes to help companies grow? He has developed and launched products, services, and brands, negotiated multi-million-dollar contracts, converted consumers into loyal customers, aligned employees with corporate goals and objectives, and expanded sales channels. With a commanding knowledge of the Caribbean and Caribbean Diaspora markets, he has collaborated with government entities, banks, and international economic development agencies on business development programs.
Peter is multilingual, with native English, fluency in French and Spanish, and basic competency in Haitian Creole.

Jonstar Consulting's team comprises experienced on-staff and consulting partners who are highly motivated executives. They possess strategic, commercial, financial and operation skills, with successful track records working in a wide range of business and management disciplines in large-, medium- and small-sized enterprises. They also have experience in leading strategy and developing new business streams and initiatives, and are versed in the dynamics of established and emerging markets.
Our on-staff consultants are stationed in North America and the Caribbean, making it convenient to service these areas, which are our principal focus markets. As a complement, our consulting partners are based mainly in Western Europe and West Africa, providing their expertise on those markets.
Combined, our on-staff and partner consultant resources possess the necessary skill set and international experience to enable us to effectively work with you on all markets that we cover.
MARK FERGUSON
Mark Ferguson is the Head of Projects at Jonstar Consulting. He has a proven track record of successful project management for companies in the public and private sectors, primarily in Western Europe. He has over 30 years of experience managing professional teams and contracts in various sectors, including education, banking, retail, and government, both in the United Kingdom and internationally.

Mark’s vast experience encompasses interpreting client briefs, transforming their desires into reality with attention to detail, and focusing on Time, Cost, Quality, and Sustainability. He adapts and tailors each project in working with clients, incorporating traditional management principles or utilizing an agile, flexible approach.

Mark graduated from the University of Westminster with a Bachelor of Science degree and continues his professional development by keeping abreast of new methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
YVONNE P. MORRIS
Yvonne P. Morris is a human resource and communication specialist and holistic life coach. She is an experienced trainer and presenter who has developed and delivered various corporate development training seminars and workshops to companies in both the public and private sectors. Her areas of expertise are human resource management, organizational development, communication, customer service, and succession planning. As a holistic life coach, she is passionate about workplace wellness.
Yvonne serves as Adjunct Professor for colleges in the US. As a member of our Jonstar team, she helps companies create holistic wellness programs to foster total organizational well-being, a critical element of business development.
She graduated from Hampton High School and the University of Technology in Jamaica before emigrating to the US, where she received a Bachelor’s degree and two Master of Science degrees in Human Resource Management and Communication.
